What do I do if I see a place I like?

Start by saving a place to your Favorites List. When the current tenant gives 30 days' notice, we'll email you and offer to introduce you directly to the landlord. You're not obligated to move ahead, but if it is the right place for you, you'll be a month ahead of the rest of the market.

When you add ratings and pictures, you receive the same from other renters. It's impossible to know exactly what your next place will be like until you move in, but together everyone gets a clearer picture. Ever wondered if the place you're looking at has a responsive landlord, or a lot of street noise at night? Those are exactly the insights shared within our community.

Why do you ask for photos?

On other sites the photos can often be misleading, that's because landlords and property managers have something to sell you. We think the best sense of a place comes from a current tenant -- like visiting a friend before they move out.

Does this mean I am putting my place up for rent?

No. When you rate your place, you are not putting it up for rent. You're just sharing what you know about your unit, building, and neighborhood. In fact, no one can see the address of your place until after you've found a new place and given notice to your old landlord.

I don't know if I want to give notice yet. Is that a problem?

No, not at all. The Find is a great place to start even if you're only just beginning to consider looking for somewhere new.

We screen for landlords and property managers, so there aren't many on The Find. Also, exact addresses aren't public and you can't search for an exact address, so most landlords wouldn't even be able to find one of their units.
