Depending on state laws that may be applicable to you, some of these disclosures may constitute a "sale" of your Personal Data. For more information, please refer to the state-specific sections below.
Note on Product Features: The examples below describe how we currently share data through our platform features. As we develop and improve our Services, the specific mechanisms for how data is shared may evolve. However, we will always maintain the core privacy principles described in this policy. Material changes that significantly affect how your Personal Data is collected, used, or shared will be communicated via email and prominent website notice. Where feasible, we will provide reasonable advance notice for such changes.
Other Platform Users
We share your Personal Data with other users of the platform in the following ways:
For All Users:
Public reviews: Your review content, photos, and ratings are publicly visible on our platform. Reviews are displayed anonymously without your name or identifying account information, though they are associated with your account internally for verification and integrity purposes.
In-platform messaging: When you communicate with other users through our messaging features, the content of your messages and your username/display name are visible to the recipients. We do not share your email address, phone number, or other contact information unless you voluntarily include it in a message.
For Current Tenants:
Publicly visible rental unit information: When you post information about your rental unit, the following details become visible to ALL tenant users (prospective renters) browsing the platform:
- Neighborhood (NOT your exact rental unit address)
- Rent amount
- Number of bedrooms and bathrooms
- Lease end date
- Whether you have given notice to vacate (your listing will be marked as "GIVEN NOTICE" if applicable)
Your exact rental unit address is NOT publicly displayed, though you may choose to share it through direct messages with prospective renters.
When prospective renters message you: Prospective renters can send you messages through our platform to ask questions about what it's like to live in your rental unit or neighborhood. You can choose whether to respond to these inquiries.
For Prospective Renters:
Viewing rental unit information: You can browse rental unit listings that show neighborhood, rent amount, bedroom/bathroom count, lease end dates, and whether current tenants have given notice. Exact addresses are not displayed publicly.
When you message current tenants: You can send messages to current tenants through our platform to ask questions about rental units you're interested in. Current tenants can see your username/display name and the content of your messages.
When you opt-in to contact a landlord: If you choose to be connected with a landlord about an available unit, we enable in-platform messaging between you and that landlord. We share your target move-in date with that landlord. The landlord can see your username/display name and any information you share in your messages. We do not automatically share your email address, phone number, or other contact information with landlords unless you voluntarily include it in a message.
For Landlords:
When prospective renters opt-in: If a prospective renter chooses to be connected with you about a unit, we share their target move-in date with you and enable in-platform messaging. You can see their username/display name and any information they share in messages.
Platform segregation: Landlords and tenants use separate, segregated versions of our platform. Landlords cannot browse tenant-posted rental unit listings, reviews, lease information, or contact information except when a prospective renter opts-in to be connected, at which point you can only see their target move-in date and messages.
